Animals in Action.....Dance Recital...Done

Well, it came, it was great, and happily...it's DONE! I love my job, I love my dancers, I love watching them perform....but I LOVE when I get my life back, too.

It was "Animals in Action" for the 2009 Kaleidoscope Dance Studio recital. Very easy theme to conform to. Of course, I feel like the star of the show is Emi, cause what kind of mom would I be if I didn't? Please ignore the blurry pics. I'm still getting used to my new camera (thanks, Bill. Great mother's day gift...I love it!)

Emi and her fellow "Philadelphia Chickens" at dress rehearsal

Nelly, the Elephant
Hound Dog
All the Pretty Little Ponies
Everyone did great....here was the playlist, as if any of you care. I just like to have a record.
  1. Rockin' Robins
  2. Under the Sea (fish)
  3. Snuggle Puppy
  4. Buzz-Buzz (Bumblebees)
  5. Flutterby-Butterfly
  6. The Lion Sleeps Tonight
  7. Philadelphia Chickens
  8. All the Pretty Little Ponies
  9. Penquins To and Fro
  10. Nelly, the Elephant
  11. Hound Dog Mix
  12. Stray Cat Strut
  13. Cheetah Girls
  14. Flight of the Hummingbird
  15. Black Cat
  16. Eye of the Tiger

Perhaps the nicest part of having recital over is my kids take over the studio for the summer. Emi set up "Princess Corner" the very next morning. I'm happy to share with the car rug, Thomas trains, and all the princess entourage. Welcome summer and my gigantic list of stuff to do before my baby girl arrives.

How fun Liz. How do I get in on the action for next year? That little Emi is such cutie!! Welcome to your well-deserved break!

It was a great recital! You are amazing! It's nice that you love what you do, but I think we all need breaks too. Fischer was singing "Philadelphia Chicken" for days. Katia seemed nervous, but I know inside she was excited. We're looking forward to next year!

Once again, Hon, way to go! Hat's off to Emi and all the other chickens, cats, dogs, and birds.
The only potential downside to your to the end of dance season is that a lot of that creativity seems to get channelled into my honey do list.

Liz, when was the recital?? I wanted to see it this year!! I've been out of the loop the last two or three weeks - traveling, etc.
I need to get your email again - don't know why I don't have it.
I'm getting oral surgery tomorrow (looking forward to that!) I haven't forgotten about Wednesdays -- I'll try and call you.
The pictures of the recital are adorable!! What creativity!! You are amazing - Emi is a natural!!

I was so sad I couldn't make it to the recital. Emi looks like an absolute doll--she looks just like you in the picture with her tongue out! I'm so happy for you that it is over--The pictures looked darling.
