My greatest game creation as a mother....

As mothers, we are very creative with keeping our children happy and occupied with dumb little games such as "I spy", etc.

Well....I found the greatest one. It's for me and Emi after Quinn goes down for a nap. I am usually exhausted (especially this week), but Emi is dying for some alone time with Mom. I lie down on the couch and she draws words on my back with her finger. I then have to guess what she has written. It's great....I'm horizontal, she is practicing her reading/writing skills, and my back is getting a little mini-massage. Everyone wins!

Sick and Tired!

Bill, Quinn, and I have all had a doozy of a cold this week. It's one of those really ugly colds where someone doesn't even have to hear you cough or sniffle to say, "oh...you're sick". Parker, however, would disagree. How could we be sick? We are still working, still making dinner, still walking around. In his eyes, this means you are perfectly healthy. I keep arguing with him that I really am sick, but to no avail. I don't know why it's important to me that he knows I'm sick. So no sympathy from my kids....I must continue on!

Skiing alone.....

Yesterday, I had the rare opportunity to go skiing alone. I've never done that before. It came as a result of trying to use up our discount passes before they close next week and the fact that I have extremely busy friends who couldn't attend. I also didn't bring my hubby because we couldn't find a sitter.....plus the fact that he is going for his annual (notice how I said annual, not BI-annual or quarterly) Moab trib with the boys. So, forget soccer games and playdates and I was on my way.
I have never seen snow like that in April. I guess it's payment for all the crappy snow storms that came every other day this winter and spring. I was there from 10:00-2:15 and got in 14 runs.....whoa! No lines and not cold at all. Why do I even want to go skiing in Dec/Jan again? It was quite tiring but extremely therapeutic. Thanks Bill!!!!!

Liberty and Blood with Strength

Parker has created a city.....it's the city of Phina (the "H" is silent). It rhymes with China because it is apparently right next door. He draws very detailed pictures of this city. It's quite a beautiful city. Phina is a free city and there are lots of taxi cabs. There is North Phina, East Phina, West Phina, and South Phina. Parker has deemed himself the mayor and he lives in North Phina (I guess it's the most prestigious area of the city). He even built a stage so that I could have my dance recitals there for free...what a son!

I think the best part is the flag. It has fuschia, navy, and white diagonal stripes and the motto is "Liberty and Blood with Strength".

Sound like a great place!
