Summer

Thanks for the petunia advice....it was enlightening to say the least.

Now I am asking for one more thing. ENERGY! Who's got any extra? My kids are out of school now and I'm so stressed that I don't have the energy to make it fun for them this summer. On a normal day, my lifestyle requires an insane amount of energy, but add pregnancy and kids out of school, and it has to be doubled. I'm not sure how this is going to happen. Granted, my energy is lower than normal, thanks to this stupid summer cold for the last 4 days, but I am nervous that my kids won't think I'm fun when I just want to lay on the couch, be fed grapes, and get fanned by palm leaves. I've been watching my dear friend, Monika, adjust to her week-old baby and her 3 other kids, and  I KNOW I do not have the energy to be a mom of four yet. I'm a bit stressed. I need to somehow store it up this summer. Wouldn't it be great if you could bottle energy?

In other news, we took the kids to "Up" on Friday night. So, so sweet. You'll cry in the first 15 minutes, or maybe that's just me since I'm uber-emotional prego girl. I always look forward to the Pixar movies...Dreamworks are really funny, but they fall onto the potty humor a lot. This only fuels Parker in his love of potty humor.

Have a great week, and if you have a little extra energy, send it my way. Have you met my kids?

Amen and amen to this post. I HATE the feeling of no energy but I am there--and I'm not even pregnant! I find myself reading and considering those energy drink pop-up ads with Lance Armstrong--do you know what I'm talking about? Anyway, I have no solution besides a big dietcoke. I am going to try to plan for three or so fun kid things each week this summer so I can gear up for them and then feel free to do my own errands and vegging the rest of the week.

Have you tried Meth - I hear it's quite helpful and helps save on dental bills too.

Sometimes I dream of getting the flu just so I can go to bed for a few days. Sam has been down with it the last few days and I resent him for it. Summer is such a mixed bag--so glad to not be driving the carpool and helping with homework but the days are so long and I'm already so tired of Luke!

If all else fails, take comfort in knowing that your kids will survive one "less fun" summer. I know all about not having the get-up-and-go to be the fun mom, and the kids survive it all.

we loved UP too.

I'd lend you some of mine if I could find it!! I blame it on this weather because I swear about a week ago I had enough in store for 3 Moms! Now.. I think my kids are asking me to borrow theirs?? ;p

My kids can't wait to see UP so I'm glad it's a good one!

I have got to see UP. I have heard nothing but great things about it. And just think, the rain will end in a week (hopefully) and your kids can once again be outside. Hang in there!
