Coronado pics....a heck of a lot of them!

Well, I returned on Sunday from 10 or so great days in Coronado, my home away from home. It was a bit cool this year, like the coldest it has been since 1912 (for a first week of July). Still, not too bad and it's still paradise for me.

Highlights: The amazing beds in the condo, Sheerwater dinner with Bill, impromptu fireworks during my dinner with Bill, no sunburns, Toy Story 3, running everyday along the beach ( I love sea level running), time with my cute parents (so glad my dad could get there this year), watching retro Muppets videos with my kids at night, digging huge holes in the sand, NOT being prego this year, the parade, Mootime Creamery, being waited on at the pool, cousins, watching Quinn jump waves, watching Parker and Emi boogie board, and watching Macy enjoy her first trip to the beach.

Lowlights: Dragging sweatshirts to the beach and then dragging WET sweatshirts back from the beach, seagulls attacking my kids' dinner at Seaport Village (they are mortified ...think "The Birds"), chilly weather, sea weed, Emi and her infamous car sickness, and oh yeah....ANOTHER EARTHQUAKE! (and then having to drive over Coronado bridge right after it).

Here are some of my million pictures:

Where we've been.....May edition

So...blogging has been on the back-burner to say the least. But here is a quick run-down of all we did in May (minus the dance recital...you've seen all that):

we built forts....

we did the unusual and went to Temple Square in the spring (a lot nicer than Christmas weather-wise).....

finished up Kindermusik with Quinn.....

Jogapalooza Fun Run at school....

we froze at every soccer game (all for one goal the entire season)....go Purple Piranhas....

We went to a murder party....it was the day after my recital and both Bill and I were hoping we wouldn't have to do much. Of course, Bill was murdered and I was the murderer. So I had to work at being coy and sly.
Bill was Steven Spillsome and I was Molly Ringworm...

we attended art shows....

and piano concerts......

Anyway, if you're still here, thanks for viewing pics of my life!

Princesses and Kings

My annual dance recital for my studio was about 10 days ago....I'm just now getting to the post for it as I have finally recovered just a little.

Theme was "Princesses and Kings", meaning Disney Princesses and a tribute to the King of Pop. I did this theme about 7 years ago with Elvis.

There were 19 dances, so they are not all on here, but here are some highlights!

Emi opened the show with "When You Wish Upon a Star"

Beauty and the Beast

ABC 123 ...that's my dear little Emi again.

Black and White

Beat It...notice the sparkly socks and glove!

Smooth Criminal

And oh yeah.....I made my teaching staff dance this year. They were so fun to work with and good sports.
This is me leaping....I have to brag as I had a baby just a few months back!

Phew....glad it's over, but it is always fun.

Me and my favorite dancer........

Why I won't be smiling for 18-24 months....

Well, third times a charm, right?

That's right....I am a metal mouth for the THIRD time in my life. Did the normal Jr. High stint with braces, got them off in 8th grade. Wore the retainers, but had a tongue thrust that pushed my front teeth out a bit. Got them a second time right before high school (I made my crazy orthodontist who called me "lassie" promise they would come off before high school). Wore my retainers. End of college....during a rather significant bout of stress, my jaw pops and I get TMJ. This requires a specialist and physical therapy that involved taping up my back, shoe inserts, and relaxation CD's. It also screwed up my teeth again.

So here I am...age 36 in braces. I should have done it years ago, but kept putting it off. Pregnancy and braces would have marked me as the elephant man. I did spring for the porcelain ones, but still, not a good look for me.

No nuts, gummy bears, and caramel. But I did have a milkshake for dinner!

Chicks

So....Quinn went IFA with Bill the other day to get some seed for our lawn. While there, he saw baby chicks and ducks. Quinn told this to Parker when he got home. Parker's response...
"Yeah....I have experience with chicks.....hugging them.....petting them....at school."

This was in reference to the baby chick Parker saw being born in his school class last year.....not to the females of his class. You kind of had to be there, but I had to write it down.
